When it comes to Felco hand pruners, there is simply no better choice to be made. Period.
Yes, they’re a bit more expensive than other brands but they last for decades (I have the same pair I started out with in the nursery industry over 40 years ago)
They’re a by-pass pruner and easier on the hands than other cheaper anvil types
They come in a wide variety of models depending on the task in hand.
Replaceable blades (and they come apart easily to remove and sharpen the blade)
They’re large enough to fit comfortably in all but the largest hands (I have large hands and they fit fine with no finger crunching when the handles come together). If you’re concerned about this, there are several different models with differing handle distances-apart.
This is a premium tool and would make an excellent gift (for yourself) 🙂 or a serious gardener. There is reason they sit on the hip of almost every commercial nursery worker – quality and workmanship combined with superior cutting power to make it easy on the hands.
Nursery people do so much cutting they simply need better tools.
This is the best set of hand pruners on the market. They live on my hip when I go into the garden.
Tip: Buy the holster. Attach a big snap-ring or carabiniere to it so you can quick-clip to a belt buckle on your way out the door. That way the pruners stay within reach and can be put on or taken off easily. Yes, pros attach them their belts but who has the time or inclination to do that? Get a clip!
