Have You Heard About This Easy Way To Make Cut Flowers Last Longer?

If you take cut flowers into your house or if you recut purchased flowers (you should be recutting) before you arrange them, this tip is for you.

  • Disinfect both your pruning shears and the vase with a 10% bleach solution.
  • At the very least, disinfect the vase with a thorough washing.
  • Research (reference below) indicated that Gerbera daisy flowers lived 3 days longer if disinfected pruning shears were used compared to non-disinfected.

So – using disinfected pruning shears is really easy to do and gets you an extra few days of vase life.
