An unlabelled pot is a forgotten pot. And an unlabelled garden plant is easily forgotten.
Cheap plant labels can be obtained by cutting up tall margarine or yogurt tubs and using indelible magic markers or soft pencils for writing.
We used to use popsicle sticks – a buch for a bag of 100. And a soft but sharp pencil.
Note that using water soluble markers is only asking for disappointment as they will fade away in sunlight or melt away if wet.
A soft-lead pencil makes a long-lasting impression on wood or plastic.
The small plastic tags don’t last well in the garden and we were forever losing them (or something/somebody would move them) so we used to use a metal tag with china marker pencil writing. Works well.
But here’s our current system. The picture is self-explanatory.
There is however only one problem…
Somebody has to get the wine out of the bottles… 🙂
